Douglas K. Richardson Award for Perinatal and Pediatric Health Care Research

About this program

The Society for Pediatric Research awards the Douglas K. Richardson Award for Perinatal and Pediatric Health Care Research annually to honor a lifetime of substantive contributions and leadership in child health services, perinatal and pediatric research; the recipient is formally recognized at the Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS) Meeting and receives economy travel, two nights’ hotel, complimentary PAS registration, and an honorarium. Eligible nominees are child-health researchers of any specialty or advanced degree (including PhDs) who have demonstrated a sustained record of excellence as clinical investigators; SPR membership is not required. Nominations (accepted Aug 15–Sep 30) must include the nominee’s CV, a detailed letter documenting substantive research contributions in areas such as healthcare utilization, identification of risk factors, epidemiologic health services studies, or patient-oriented clinical research, plus three additional letters of support; recipients are selected by an independent committee.
