The SIR Foundation offers the Dr. Ernest J. Ring Academic Development Grant to support junior interventional radiology faculty in conducting research that advances the field and positions them to secure subsequent peer-reviewed funding. Awards provide up to $150,000 over 24 months, including salary support, with at least 30% dedicated research time required. Applicants must be full-time faculty at accredited U.S. or Canadian institutions, hold an MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent, be SIR members, and be within seven years of their initial faculty appointment at or below the assistant professor level. Candidates must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents, have departmental support and a qualified mentor, and generally lack major independent grant support; applications are due January 15, 2027, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
