The Department of Afroamerican and African Studies (DAAS) at the University of Michigan offers the Du Bois-Mandela-Rodney Postdoctoral Fellowship, a residential one‑year appointment supporting scholars working on Africa or the African diaspora across the humanities, social sciences, and relevant professional schools; the package is $56,000 plus benefits ($52,000 stipend including health insurance; $3,000 research/travel; up to $1,000 relocation). Fellows maintain affiliations with DAAS and related units, deliver a five- or six‑week work‑in‑progress “mini‑course” for advanced undergraduates and graduates, and present in at least one colloquium during the year.
