EANM Alavi-Carlsen Award (award for outstanding young authors in EANM journals)

About this program

The European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) offers the Alavi‑Carlsen Award (from 2026) to recognize outstanding original research articles published in its two journals, The EANM Journal and EANM Innovation, with one €4,000 prize awarded per journal each year. Prize funds must be used for scientific development or training at institutions in Europe, and winners are selected by a dedicated EANM expert jury and presented at the EANM’26 congress. Eligible work must be an original research article published in the calendar year prior to the award (reviews, guidelines, position papers, editorials and “hotspot” articles are excluded), and the first or corresponding author must be a nuclear medicine scientist younger than 38 at the time of publication.
