Early Career Innovation Award

About this program

The Entomological Society of America offers the Early Career Innovation Award to recognize young entomologists who have demonstrated innovation across research, teaching, extension, product development, public service, or other specializations; recipients receive $1,000 and a plaque presented at the ESA Annual Meeting. Nominations must be submitted online via the ESA nomination site and received by June 1, 2026, with files uploaded individually in PDF, TIF, or JPG format. Eligible nominees must be current ESA members two to ten years past their last degree (including postdocs) and be practicing entomologists in public- or private-sector roles; anyone may nominate and up to two self-nominations per year are allowed. Nomination packages must not exceed 20 pages and should include a CV with specified sections, two letters of recommendation, and a brief (≤2 single‑spaced pages) summary of the nominee’s innovative work; judging emphasizes contributions to entomology (90%) and supporting information such as participation and leadership (10%).
