Early Career Scientific Development Grant (ESPE)

About this program

ESPE (European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology) funds the Early Career Scientific Development Grant to support paediatric endocrinology clinical fellows and basic-science PhD trainees to gain specific research experience or laboratory techniques via short external visits (up to six weeks) or by hosting an external expert, with up to three awards of €2,500 each annually that cover travel and housing (limited support for research materials; personnel and personal living costs excluded). Applications are submitted electronically and must include the application form, a one-page CV, a letter of support from the home institution (home sponsor must be an ESPE member) and a letter of acceptance from the host. Eligible applicants are clinical fellows or PhD students in paediatric endocrinology training or within five years of completing training; current Science Committee or ESPE Council members, applicants in the same research group as a Science Committee member, and applicants based in Russia or Belarus are ineligible. Grant activities must commence within six months of award and recipients must submit a completion report within three months of finishing.
