EBAA Research Grant – Amphotericin Supplementation of Intermediate-Term Cold Storage Media

The Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) is offering a one‑year research grant (up to $25,000) to support investigator- and industry-initiated studies assessing the safety, efficacy, and cost‑effectiveness of supplementing intermediate‑term corneal storage media with amphotericin to address post‑keratoplasty fungal infections. Eligible applicants include investigators, industry sponsors, trainees, eye‑bank technicians, and nurses (trainees must name a scientific supervisor), and projects must be affiliated with an eye bank or carry endorsement and a letter of support from a named Paton Society member if not. Required materials include PI information and CV/biosketch, a research proposal with Background & Specific Aims (1 page), Significance (1 page), Methods/Approach (up to 3 pages), Qualifications & Facilities (1 page), References (up to 2 pages), an itemized budget (maximum request $25,000), and IRB/animal‑use approvals where applicable. Awardees must provide a six‑month progress report, a final report and financial statement, acknowledge EBAA support in publications, present results at an EBAA meeting within two years, return unexpended funds, and certify no other governmental or philanthropic funding has been awarded for the same project.
