Ed Becker JAM Participation Awards

About this program

Entomological Society of Canada offers Ed Becker JAM Participation Awards to provide cash assistance for students to attend the Joint Annual Meeting to present original research; in 2024 there are 15 awards of $500 each, with funds usable to reimburse registration if the JAM is online. Applicants must hold paid active ESC membership, be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a Canadian university, and be presenting their own paper or poster at the JAM; no student may receive more than one award while registered for the same degree. Apply by emailing a single PDF to info@esc-sec.ca (subject line with your last name and award name) containing a cover page (award name, applicant name and email, letter writers’ emails), CV, transcripts, abstract (max 250 words), and a supervisor letter, with one letter of recommendation emailed separately; the application deadline is the JAM abstract deadline posted on the JAM webpage. Awards are selected by committee based on academic merit and abstract quality, and winners are notified with cheques issued prior to the JAM.
