Edited Book Award

About this program

The Children’s Literature Association (ChLA) awards the Edited Book Award annually to recognize outstanding edited collections that make significant contributions to children’s literature scholarship and criticism. Eligible books must be published two years before the award year and examine children’s literature, texts, media, or culture from literary, cultural, historical, or theoretical perspectives. Nominations are due August 31 and must be submitted online; eligible volumes must be book-length, written exclusively in English, and authored or edited by the contributors listed in the book. Anthologies, reference works, textbooks, primarily pedagogical volumes, reprints, and unrevised dissertations or theses are ineligible.
