Education and Training Event Grants

About this program

The Neurological Foundation offers Education and Training Event Grants of up to NZD 20,000 (equipment requests capped at NZD 15,000) to support seminars, conferences, advanced training courses, educational community events and associated education/training equipment that increase awareness, training and public education about neurological health, causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and care of nervous system disorders. Eligible costs include subsidised registration, travel, accommodation, childcare, keynote speaker economy travel and modest hospitality, video conferencing, educational materials/equipment delivery and presentation prizes, while exclusions include venue/facility hire, catering, organiser/volunteer support, alcohol, business-class airfares, employer-funded clinical training and subscription/license fees. Applications are accepted anytime but must be submitted at least 8 weeks before the event (6 months recommended) via the Foundation’s Grants Management System and require a registered charity, tertiary education organisation, public hospital or research institute to act as the financial Host Organisation and submit the application. Events must be hosted in New Zealand or Australia and applications must include an itemised NZD (ex-GST) budget with quotes, event programme, CVs for keynote speakers and any letters of co‑funding/collaboration; applicants should also describe proposed Foundation acknowledgement and collaboration arrangements.
