About this program
The Air Force Association (AFA) awards $20,000 annually in Educator Grants, distributed to 40 K–12 educators to support innovative aerospace-themed classroom projects that promote STEM. Grants are competitively selected and announced in February by a committee of aerospace education experts based on detailed project proposals. Eligible applicants are K–12 educators or instructors proposing aerospace/STEM classroom initiatives. Applications are accepted only via the SmarterSelect portal (no hardcopy or fax) from September 1 through December 15.
