Einar and Eva Lund Haugen Memorial Scholarship

The Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study offers the $7,500 Einar and Eva Lund Haugen Memorial Scholarship to support Ph.D. candidates conducting research or fieldwork on Nordic or Nordic-American topics in the social sciences or history. Funding may support travel to the Nordic region or distant North American sites for archival, museum, library, fieldwork, or excavation research. Applicants must be enrolled Ph.D. candidates at a North American institution who have completed coursework and preliminary doctoral requirements, and must maintain membership in good standing with SASS during both the application and funding years. Applications are due December 1, with funding available from June 1 through May 31.
