Ellis-Beauregard Foundation Documentary Film Award

About this program

Ellis-Beauregard Foundation, in partnership with Points North Institute, is awarding one $50,000 unrestricted grant plus a creative retreat (including travel and lodging for director and editor) to a feature-length nonfiction film currently in post-production that demonstrates artistic ambition and expands the language of documentary cinema. Applicants must be filmmakers permanently based in the United States; projects from both emerging and established filmmakers are encouraged and works anticipated to be completed by Summer 2027 are preferred. Selection is by an invited industry panel based on artistic excellence, originality, clarity of vision, and creative potential; submissions are open March 16–April 16 or until 300 applications are received.
