About this program

Elsa U. Pardee Foundation provides one-year research grants to investigators at U.S. nonprofit institutions to support early-stage projects aimed at identifying new treatments or cures for cancer, helping new cancer researchers establish capabilities or enabling established investigators to pursue novel approaches. Applications are submitted via the Foundation’s online system (three cycles per year: Dec 1, Apr 30, Aug 31) and must include a project summary (≤1,700 characters), a text-only project plan (≤20,000 characters), a 2-page preliminary results PDF, detailed budget and justification (overhead ≤5%, essential equipment ≤$5,000), personnel CVs, and a full list of current and pending grants with abstracts; requests have no absolute cap but must be reasonable and justified. Eligible applicants are investigators at U.S. nonprofit institutions with projects clearly relevant to cancer detection, treatment, or cure; nonprofit verification and any required human/animal approvals are required prior to funding, and a combined scientific and financial final report is due one year after the award.
