About this program

EnergyUnited Foundation, funded by member donations through Operation Round-Up, awards grants to individuals, households, and nonprofits within EnergyUnited’s electric service area to address unusual or unexpected problems such as shelter, utilities, emergencies, and other humane needs. Applicants need not be EnergyUnited electric customers but must reside in the service area; applications are accepted electronically only and the Foundation Board reviews requests monthly on the third Tuesday with email notifications within three days. Applications submitted after the 25th of the month will be deferred for two months, applicants may reapply every six months, individual limits are up to $5,000/year (or $10,000/year per household), and nonprofit disbursements typically range up to $10,000 with occasional larger contributions; a separate seasonal energy/heating assistance program is also available.
