About this program

European Renal Association (ERA) awards prestigious ERA Awards across categories recognizing excellence in nephrology—outstanding clinical and basic science contributions, research excellence, outstanding contribution to the ERA, and excellence in sustainable nephrology—with winners presented at the annual ERA Congress and no monetary prize specified. Nominations are limited to ERA members and must include a recommendation letter outlining the nominee’s main scientific achievements and justification for the award. For the Research Excellence Award nominees must be 41–60 years old in the year of nomination; the 2026 nomination call is closed and winners will be presented at the 63rd ERA Congress (June 3–6, 2026).
