Erma A. Bantz Foundation Grants for Organizations Serving the Visually Impaired

The Erma A. Bantz Foundation, administered in partnership with the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, provides project-focused grants to Greater Cincinnati nonprofits whose mission statements include support of or aid to people with visual impairments; funding for hearing impairments is no longer available. Applicants must be IRS 501(c)(3) organizations, typically located in Hamilton, Butler, Clermont or Warren counties; the Foundation does not fund individuals, taxing authorities, or political subdivisions and generally avoids continuing operational support. The Foundation requires a post‑grant evaluation, prefers to co‑fund projects with other donors, discourages annual requests (wait at least one year to reapply), allows resubmission six months after a declined application, and runs two application cycles with LOIs due May 1 and October 1 (followed by proposal and decision deadlines in June/July and November/December).
