Erve Chambers Tourism and Heritage Student Paper Award

About this program

The Society for Applied Anthropology (SfAA) offers the Erve Chambers Tourism and Heritage Student Paper Award to recognize and encourage innovative student research on tourism and heritage, with cash prizes of $300 (first place) and two $150 honorable mentions. Submissions should be original, publishable papers on topics such as heritage, archaeology and tourism, ecotourism, or cultural resource management and follow a two-step process: an expanded abstract (up to 500 words) due September 15, with invited presenters submitting full papers by December 15 and presenting in a featured session at the SfAA Annual Meeting. Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students (the first author must be a student); multiple authors are permitted if the first author meets this requirement. Award recipients are required to attend the SfAA Annual Meeting to receive the prize.
