ESPID Supported Speaker Award

About this program

The European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID) offers the Supported Speaker Award to subsidize travel and accommodation (registration not covered) for high‑quality invited speakers at research‑focused meetings organized by ESPID members, with travel caps of EUR 1,000 (Europe→USA/Americas/Australasia), EUR 600 (within Europe) or EUR 200 (domestic) and accommodation up to EUR 100/night for two nights. Applicants must be ESPID members in good standing (meeting organisers or proposed speakers); the meeting must include research as a theme and aim to promote research collaboration or training, and speaker suitability is judged on experience and CV. Only one ESPID award is allowed per project and applicants must disclose other funding; applications and supporting documents must be in English, decisions are issued within four weeks, and payment is made after the meeting on receipt of a brief research‑focused report, audience feedback and expense receipts within three months. Applications are accepted year‑round subject to available funds (for 2026 the application period is 01‑Jan‑2026 to 31‑Dec‑2026).
