About this program

The European Society of Regional Anaesthesia & Pain Therapy (ESRA) offers ESRA Research Grants to fund ESRA-member research in Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, preferentially for projects conducted in Europe and supporting research programs/rotations of at least three months to cover direct costs (eg, equipment, personnel, ethics, travel). Awards reimburse up to €10,000 per application (up to two grants awarded annually), with an initial fixed €4,000 paid about four weeks before the program start, up to €3,000 after 12 months or completion of data collection (with reimbursement documentation), and the remaining balance released after manuscript acceptance. Eligible applicants must be ESRA members (preference for projects led by an ESRA member and applicants with prior publications) and submit an application form, CV, mentor commitment, full study protocol with statistics and sample-size estimation, timeline, cost plan, and ethics/animal approvals as applicable. Applications are scored by the Grants Committee and selected by the ESRA Board; funded publications must acknowledge ESRA support and final fund release requires journal acceptance.
