About this program

The AFCEA Educational Foundation's European STEM Grants Program awards up to $1,000 to European AFCEA chapters to fund classroom STEM innovation—especially elementary programs—through equipment/materials, extracurricular activities (e.g., robotics or cyber clubs), science fairs, and direct sponsorship of students or teachers. Grants are awarded annually and may be renewed; applications are accepted on a rolling basis with biannual review panels and disbursements typically 6–8 weeks after evaluation, and chapters that provide matching funds are given preference. Eligible applicants are AFCEA European chapters that identify a community need and submit a detailed proposal addressing title/description, number of teachers/students affected, goals/objectives, methods/procedures, timetable, and budget. Successful grantees must submit a report on fund usage and project impact (required for renewal), and selections prioritize projected impact, methodological soundness, and financial need.
