Event Grants

About this program

The Botstiber Institute for Austrian-American Studies (BIAAS) offers grants of up to $25,000 to support conferences, symposia, seminars, exhibits, workshops, lectures, and other events that advance understanding of the historical relationship between the United States and Austria, including Habsburg Austria. Eligible topics include history, politics, economics, law, and cultural studies, and online events may be supported with justification.

Organizations and institutions are eligible to apply, including collaborations that designate a lead administrative organization and principal investigator. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis but must be submitted at least six months before the event and include a narrative, detailed budget, funding information, CV, two reference letters, and applicable nonprofit documentation.
