Exhibition Grants

About this program

The Terra Foundation for American Art offers Exhibition Grants of $25,000–$200,000 to support the planning and implementation of temporary loan exhibitions engaging the visual arts of the United States and Indigenous arts of North America. Eligible costs include research, interpretation, artist fees, loans, shipping, conservation, programming, marketing, and dissemination. Applicants must be museums, art centers, or community-based cultural organizations with U.S. 501(c)(3) status or an international equivalent; individuals are not eligible. For exhibitions opening after January 1, 2028, inquiries are due March 2, 2027, and invited proposals are due May 18, 2027.
