Experimental Physics Investigators Initiative

About this program

The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation’s Experimental Physics Investigators Initiative provides $1.35 million over five years to support mid-career experimental physicists pursuing creative, high-impact research and emerging directions in fundamental physics. Flexible funding may support students, postdoctoral researchers, equipment, collaboration, and research pivots. Applicants must be recently tenured, or hold an equivalent position, and be affiliated with a U.S. nonprofit or public academic or research institution. The two-stage process begins with a brief pre-proposal including ORCID information and a two-page research outline.
