Family Strengthening Small Grants Fund

About this program

The Mabel Louise Riley Foundation’s Family Strengthening Small Grants Fund provides $500–$5,000 grants for projects in Greater Dudley, Roxbury, and Dorchester that strengthen families, promote community engagement, remove employment barriers, increase parental involvement, or improve neighborhoods. Eligible activities may include youth or intergenerational programs, parenting seminars, life-skills workshops, support groups, reintegration assistance, and neighborhood cleanups; grants must be completed within 12 months and may not fund salaries. Applicants must be resident volunteers or volunteer-run neighborhood groups and associations serving the Greater Dudley area; large social service agencies, community-based organizations, and for-profit entities are ineligible. Non-501(c)(3) applicants must use a Massachusetts-incorporated nonprofit fiscal agent, and prior grantees must submit a final report before reapplying; 2026 deadlines are January 30, May 1, and October 9.
