FEMS Industry Placement Grants (IPG)

About this program

The Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) offers Industry Placement Grants (IPG) to help Early Career Scientists gain industry experience relevant to microbiology, including non-laboratory roles, to advance their careers. Placements may be in any industry sector provided the work is microbiology-relevant; application deadlines are February 1 and August 1 (see the FEMS grants webpage for regulations and submission). Applicants must be members of a FEMS Member Society and must not be currently employed by the industry where they seek a placement. Early Career Scientist eligibility is defined as having obtained the highest degree less than five years before the deadline or being a PhD student, with periods of maternity/paternity leave, special leave, or illness excluded from the five-year calculation.
