FMSO grant program for medical student organizations

About this program

The American Academy of Family Physicians' Family Medicine Student Organization (FMSO) grant program provides funding to osteopathic and allopathic medical student organizations to grow and diversify the family medicine workforce and advance primary care, offering Core Grants for regular operations and Special Grants for new or revamped events, projects, or programs. Core Grants are exclusive to family medicine-based groups (e.g., FMIGs and Student Association of the ACOFP chapters); all eligible groups receive $600 tied to FMIG registration (Jan–Mar) with funds disbursed in June. Special Grants are open to all student organizations, reviewed on a rolling basis with application deadlines of Nov 30, Jan 31, and Mar 31; family medicine specialty interest groups can receive up to $1,000 total (if awarded both Core and Special Grants) while other student clubs may receive up to $500.
