About this program
The Archaeological Institute of America’s Foot Soldier Award recognizes dedicated members whose sustained service strengthens their Local Society through leadership, volunteer work, and support of the Society’s activities and mission. No monetary funding is specified; the award honors exceptional local contributions, with nominations due December 1, 2026. Nominees must be AIA members of a Local Society and must be nominated by that Society through a letter detailing their qualifications, submitted to societies@archaeological.org.
