Freund-Marquardt Medal (ASQ) — Award for contributions to management system standards

About this program

American Society for Quality (ASQ) administers the Freund‑Marquardt Medal, a recognition honoring individuals who have applied quality management principles to the development, implementation, and literature of management system standards, supporting technical standards, and/or Performance Excellence Awards; the award acknowledges leadership in standards development and published contributions and carries no specified monetary prize. Eligible nominees are individuals who have demonstrated excellence in standards work domestically and/or internationally; nominations may be submitted by individuals, ASQ divisions or technical committees, or other standards-producing organizations, and ASQ membership is preferred but not required. Nominations must be received by October 1 and include a cover letter, a narrative or vita detailing major accomplishments, supporting documentation, a proposed citation (≤40 words), and at least two references (not the nominator) available by phone. The complete packet may not exceed 10 single‑spaced pages in 12‑point type.
