Frontiers Planet Prize (5th edition)

About this program

The Frontiers Research Foundation’s Frontiers Planet Prize, with the U.S. National Academies (NASEM) serving as the U.S. representative body, funds and honors breakthroughs in sustainability science that demonstrate potential to stabilize planetary ecosystems and advance healthy lives on a healthy planet. U.S. universities and research institutions may register as National Nominating Bodies by September 15, 2026 and submit nominations of eligible research by October 30, 2026. Eligible nominees are scientists who lead a research team and whose breakthrough research was reported within two years prior to the Prize launch; NASEM will convene expert reviewers to recommend U.S. nominees and will support dissemination and amplification if a U.S. nominee is awarded.
