Fund for Omaha — General operating grants for local nonprofits

About this program

Omaha Community Foundation’s Fund for Omaha offers annual general operating grants of up to $25,000 to strengthen grassroots nonprofits and expand essential services across priority areas including economic opportunity, housing and neighborhoods, maternal health, and mental/behavioral health. Applications are accepted July 1–August 1 each year, with awards announced by October 31. Eligible applicants are IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organizations serving the Omaha metropolitan area (Douglas, Sarpy, Pottawattie counties) or initiatives using a 501(c)(3) fiscal agent, and must have annual operating budgets of $5 million or less. Selection prioritizes community impact, cultural understanding, engagement of lived experience, and capacity-building potential.
