About this program

National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, as a contractor to the Beef Checkoff, is soliciting FY27 full proposals for grant‑in‑aid research in Product Quality, Human Nutrition, Pre‑Harvest Beef Safety, and Beef Sustainability (full proposal deadlines: Human Nutrition Aug 6, 2026; others Aug 26, 2026) with awards beginning Jan 1, 2027. Awards fund research that advances the profitability and scientific understanding of beef and beef products; applications must be submitted through the BeefGrants online portal (account required) and inquiries can be sent to info@beefgrants.org. Eligible applicants are qualified scientists—typically academic researchers—with projects aligned to NCBA priority topic areas; note that overhead/indirect costs, principal investigator salaries, and equipment purchases are not allowable expenses.
