GEA National Grant Award - Educational Research

About this program

The Group on Educational Affairs (GEA), part of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), offers annual grants of up to $10,000 each for two-year research projects that advance medical education and address critical challenges in academic medicine. Priority research topics include professional identity formation, learner well-being and mistreatment, learning environment, faculty development, interprofessional education, competency-based medical education, self-directed learning, and virtual or COVID-related educational innovations. Eligible applicants are researchers and educators engaged in academic medicine and medical education who submit proposals through a two-stage process consisting of a pre-proposal in the fall and a full proposal in the spring. No cost-sharing is required, though the funding cycle is periodically updated and may close between application periods.
