General Grant Proposals

About this program

The Charles Koch Foundation provides rolling General Grant funding for research that promotes social progress and advances understanding of critical issues, supporting projects aligned with the Foundation’s goals and potentially funding dissemination of results. Award amounts are commensurate with research needs and potential impact. Eligible applicants are generally U.S.-based Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) public charities and universities; for-profit entities are typically ineligible and unsolicited individual requests are not accepted except through specific individual grant programs, and grants may not fund overhead, campaign activity, or lobbying. Applications must include a 1–2 page project abstract, a CV or résumé, and a brief itemized budget, and proposed projects must be original, unpublished, and meet high disciplinary standards.
