General Support Main Round

About this program

The Aaron Copland Fund for Music’s General Support Program offers unrestricted grants to organizations with a sustained commitment to contemporary American concert music and/or contemporary jazz—including performing ensembles, presenters, music service organizations, and record companies—to support upcoming season activity and public engagement. Grants generally range from $2,000 to $20,000 (larger awards may be made up to the amount requested), and applicants are advised not to request more than about 30% of their season operating expenses. Only organizations that submitted a Preliminary Round application and were invited to the Main Round may apply; the Main Round requires a full proposal with narrative and season highlights, three-year budgets and financials, repertoire lists, and performance samples (three MP3s plus one corresponding score), among other materials. The Main Round deadline is August 13, 2026 (11:59 pm ET) and funding decisions will be announced by the end of November.
