About this program
The Immigration and Ethnic History Society offers two $3,500 George E. Pozzetta Dissertation Awards to support graduate students researching and writing dissertations on U.S. immigration, emigration, or ethnic history. Eligible applicants are Ph.D. candidates who will have completed their qualifying examinations by the end of 2026 and are not completing or defending their dissertations in 2027. Applications must include a 1,500-word proposal, budget, curriculum vitae, and major advisor’s supporting letter, submitted by December 15, 2026.
