Gerald Westheimer Graduate Fellowship

About this program

The Leo Baeck Institute offers one or more Gerald Westheimer Graduate Fellowships annually, providing awards of up to $3,000 for research on the history and culture of German-speaking Jewry. Funds must be used by the end of the year in which they are awarded, and applications are due November 16, with decisions announced in January. Applicants must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program at an accredited institution; materials include a CV, research proposal, financial plan, degree and enrollment documentation, transcripts for doctoral candidates, and two field-specific recommendation letters. Fellowship recipients must submit a brief report on their research activities.
