Global Majority Scholars Research Grant

About this program

The Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) is offering three grant programs to support research and creative work in theatre higher education: the Global Majority Scholars Research Grant, the High Teaching Load Research Grant for Contingent Faculty, and the Development of a Creative Work Grant. Awards are $1,000 plus free ATHE conference registration for the first two grants, and up to $2,000 plus free conference registration for awardees (and any co-awardees) for the creative-work grant. Applicants must be current ATHE members at time of application and award; the Global Majority grant is for scholars/practitioners who identify as members of the global majority (individual applicants only), the High Teaching Load grant is for contingent faculty teaching more than three classes per semester (individual applicants only, including students who meet the load requirement), and the Creative Work grant is open to individuals or teams (up to four) affiliated with a college or university. Applications require a project description (up to 500 words), short statements addressing alignment with ATHE and career impact (up to 100 words each), a budget, CV/resumé, and—for the contingent grant—a 50–75 word description of current teaching load; materials are submitted via the ATHE website in PDF/Word (or a single .zip).
