Global Reporting Grants

About this program

The Pulitzer Center offers Global Reporting Grants to support in-depth, high-impact journalism on underreported issues worldwide, with no restrictions on topic or location. Grants support reasonable reporting costs across print, photography, audio, video, and documentary projects; most international travel awards range from $5,000 to $10,000, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Staff and freelance journalists of all nationalities are eligible, but proposals should include detailed budgets, distribution plans, and letters of interest or commitment from potential outlets. Projects in conflict zones require a firm outlet assignment accepting responsibility for reporter safety and adherence to ACOS principles; the program does not fund books, feature-length films, equipment purchases, routine breaking news, or general operating expenses.
