Good Science Project–Johns Hopkins MA in Science Writing Fellowship

The Good Science Project, administered by the Johns Hopkins MA in Science Writing, awards four $5,000 reporting fellowships annually to support feature-length magazine articles that investigate the funding and practice of science in the United States. Grants are paid in two installments ($2,500 at award, $2,500 on submission of a polished final draft), may be used for living and reporting costs, and awardees retain rights while being expected to pitch stories to national outlets. Open to journalists and writers worldwide (including full‑time journalists, who must explain how the grant enables coverage their publication would not otherwise fund); proposed articles must be at least 3,000 words and completed within six months of the award—check the program for current deadlines.
