Grabar Travel Grant (HIAA)

About this program

The Historians of Islamic Art Association (HIAA) administers the Oleg Grabar Memorial Fund to support doctoral candidates in Islamic art, architecture, and archaeology who present at scholarly conferences, with a maximum award of $1,000 US. Applications are accepted twice yearly (August 15 and December 15 deadlines) and must include a cover letter with itemized budget, CV, conference acceptance letter, paper abstract, and a supervisor recommendation emailed separately to the Grabar Committee Chair. Applicants must be HIAA members in good standing and have been invited or accepted to present papers, chair sessions, or moderate discussions at professional meetings. Awards must be used within 12 months of notification, which occurs within six weeks of the deadline.
