Graduate Student Conservation Research Award (GSCRA)

About this program

The Society for Freshwater Science (SFS), supported by the Conservation Fund, offers the Graduate Student Conservation Research Award (GSCRA), providing one or more competitive $1,000 awards annually to graduate students whose research advances knowledge or conservation of endangered or threatened species/ecosystems, biodiversity at any level, aquatic species or ecosystem conservation planning, or restoration of impaired systems. Selection is based on the scientific merit of the proposal, and projects may be ongoing or initiated upon receipt of the award. Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate degree program (Master’s/Ph.D. or equivalent), be a current SFS student member at application and during the award year, must not be previous GSCRA recipients, and must not be current recipients of an SFS Endowment Award.
