About this program
The South Atlantic Modern Language Association (SAMLA) offers its annual Graduate Student Creative Writing Award to recognize outstanding creative work by graduate students. The 2026 award honors prose and includes a $250 honorarium and publication of the winning work in South Atlantic Review. Applicants must be SAMLA members and submit no more than 10 pages of unpublished work through the awards application by July 15; submissions must be completed by the student, and applicants are expected to attend the annual conference.
