Graduate Student Research Fellowship

About this program

The Torrey Botanical Society offers six annual Graduate Student Research Fellowships—three for master’s students and three for doctoral students—in amounts of $1,000, $1,500, or $2,500 to support plant science fieldwork and related expenses. Applicants must be graduate students conducting plant science research and members of the Society. Applications due January 15, 2027, must include a maximum two-page research proposal with a separate literature-cited page, itemized and justified budget, current CV, and a letter from the major professor confirming the applicant’s status and qualifications.
