About this program
California’s Department of Parks and Recreation offers Grants and Cooperative Agreements Program funding to support well-managed off-highway vehicle (OHV) recreation on public lands, including trail and facility development, maintenance, restoration, conservation, enforcement, safety, and education. Approximately $30 million is available statewide for projects lasting one to three years, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis.
Eligible applicants include public agencies, educational institutions, federal or California Native American Tribes, Certified Community Conservation Corps, and nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status. Projects must be located on public lands in California, and applicants must provide matching funds of at least 25% of total project costs, or 10% for restoration projects.
