Grants for Art History (up to £1,000)

About this program

The Association for Art History offers grants of up to £1,000 to advance study and practice in art history, supporting activities such as symposia, conferences and workshops, travel to archives and collections, conference dissemination, exhibition catalogues and public-engagement programmes, access to third‑party images, and professional training in curatorial and public engagement. Awards support scholarly research, professional-practice development and teaching and learning across all education levels. Eligible applicants include individuals and project teams (researchers, teachers, museum/gallery practitioners) working in art history; funding is awarded in two rounds each year (September and January), with the January round’s grant period effectively beginning 1 March 2026. Applicants must submit the relevant application form and an equality & diversity monitoring form to grants@forarthistory.org.uk.
