Grants for scientific retreats

About this program

The President’s Board of the University of Basel provides annual grants of up to CHF 10,000 to PhD students and postdocs to organize disciplinary or interdisciplinary research retreats for junior researchers at internal, national or international levels, including PhD retreats or PhD days with external experts. Applicants must be PhD students or postdocs affiliated with the University of Basel and serve as event organizers. Applications are accepted twice yearly (1 February and 1 October) and must be submitted as a single PDF. Required documents are the completed application form (online, printed to PDF), event concept and program, detailed budget, list of speakers with roles, and if the supervising professor does not participate, documentation that they are aware of the event.
