About this program

The Heinz Endowments’ Community Partners Fund provides grants to support projects that advance its seven priority strategies—Arts & Culture; Civic Participation; Climate, Environment & Health; Community & Economic Development; Food Systems; Veterans; and Workforce—with a focus on strengthening the social, economic, cultural, and environmental vitality of southwestern Pennsylvania. Funding is intended for initiatives that clearly align with the Endowments’ program goals; examples of previously awarded grants are available on their Grants Awarded page.

Eligible applicants are tax‑exempt organizations (IRC §501(c)(3) and §509(a) public charities), federally tax‑exempt entities, and government organizations; individuals and for‑profit entities are ineligible, and applicants should confirm their listing in GuideStar/Candid. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through the Blackbaud Applicant & Grantee Portal—submit a short letter of inquiry (response in ~45 days) to be invited to a full general application, which requires a project narrative, budget, audited financials, and a signed Patriot Act compliance statement; funding decisions typically take 60–90 days.
