H. Branch Howe Graduate Student Research Grant (GOS)

About this program

The Georgia Ornithological Society offers H. Branch Howe Graduate Student Research Grants of up to $15,000 (normally for a 12‑month period, renewal permitted) to support graduate student ornithological research, with priority given to projects in Georgia; funds may not be used for salary, tuition, university overhead, or indirect costs. Applicants must be GOS members and enrolled graduate students in the State of Georgia during the grant period, conducting primarily ornithological research under faculty direction, and may not receive both the Howe and Terrell grants in the same calendar year. Application packets (maximum 10 pages) must include a cover page, project description, literature citations, itemized budget, statement of other support, brief resume, and two separate letters of reference (one from the directing faculty member); applications are due December 1 each year and awardees are selected by January 31.
