H. Colin Slim Award

About this program

The American Musicological Society’s H. Colin Slim Award recognizes an outstanding musicological article by a scholar beyond the early stages of their career and includes a monetary prize, certificate, and recognition at the AMS annual meeting. Eligible articles must have been published in the preceding calendar year and written in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, or Spanish. Authors must be AMS members or citizens/permanent residents of the United States or Canada and more than twelve years beyond completion of the PhD. Self-nominations and nominations by colleagues or publishers are welcome; submissions are due by April 15.
